ADDA Election Notice


As previously announced, the ADDA is holding an election for all Officers and Directors.  The ADDA Board of Directors consists of 21 members, five of whom are Officers (President, Executive Vice President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer). 

In order to serve as an Officer of the ADDA, members must have been a member in good standing for at least two years prior to the election;  to serve as a Director, members must have been a member in good standing for at least one year prior to the election.   If you are interested in running for office, and you wish to verify the date you became a member in good standing, you can call Leslie Simon, Organizing Director, AFSCME District Council 36 at 213-252-1350.

All ADDA members in good standing effective September 27th, 2010 shall be eligible to vote in this election.

Pursuant to Article II of our By-Laws, we must provide 60 days’ notice of all Board and Officer elections.  The following is the timeline for the election:
  • Oct. 12, 2010:     Current Directors and Officers who wish to run must submit Petitions to the ADDA Secretary.  They may be sent to: James Bozajian, ADDA Secretary, c/o AFSCME District Council 36, 514 Shatto Place, Los Angeles, CA 90020
  • Oct. 14, 2010:     ADDA will publish the names of incumbent Directors and Officers who have submitted Petitions to run for office.
  • Oct. 25, 2010:     Non-incumbent, eligible union members (as defined above) must file a Petition to run for office with the ADDA Secretary on or before this date.  Petitions must indicate if you are seeking election to a specific Officer position or as an at-large Director.  They may be sent to: James Bozajian, ADDA Secretary, c/o AFSCME District Council 36, 514 Shatto Place, Los Angeles, CA 90020.
 
Petitions are available on the ADDA website, www.la-adda.com.   Please call 213-252-1350 with any questions.
  • Oct. 26, 2010:     Ballots shall be mailed to all eligible voters on or before this date.
  • Nov. 23, 2010:     Ballots must be received at AFSCME District Council 36, 514 Shatto Place, Los Angeles, CA 90020 no later than 5:00 p.m.
  • Nov. 23, 2010:     Ballots will be opened beginning at 6:00 p.m. at AFSCME, District Council 36, 514 S. Shatto Place, Los Angeles, California, 90020.
  • Election results will be posted on the ADDA website after they are certified by the Board of Directors.
